Rail's role 230 Years beyond Penydarren CILT Thursday 21 Feb

The Richard Trevithick Lecture
"230 Years beyond Penydarren-Rail's role for the next generation"
Speaker: Chris Austin OBE, Director of Public Policy, Association of
Train Operating Companies

Venue: Cardiff County Hall Atlantic Wharf
Time 18:00 for 18:30

This lecture will pick up the theme of the Government's White Paper,
Delivering a Sustainable Railway, to look ahead for 30 years to the sort
of railway that might be required then. This would embrace the need for
new lines and extension of electrification, as well as what is included
in the White paper, such as additional rolling stock. The Welsh
dimension of this will be considered in the context of the requirements
for Great Britain as a whole.
